Speak Clubhouse: The Six Words

Most confusion about the app is really about vocabulary. There are six kinds of things members can join. Learn these and the rest makes sense.

• Court booking — a member reserves a court and pays. Self-serve: you set the rules and prices once.

• Open Play — a one-night social or competitive event. The app builds the matchups each round and keeps a leaderboard. Formats: Americano, Mexicano, King of the Court, Round Robin. This is your workhorse.

• Clinic — coached group sessions with one of your pros. Players enroll and pay one session at a time.

• League — the same night every week for a season. Each week is its own Open Play night, and points add up across the season.

• Tournament — a bracket, single or double elimination. Separate draws are created for each combination of team size, skill level, and gender category.

• Series — a season-long container that groups events into one leaderboard with finals. The Clubhouse team sets these up with you.

The league secret: a league is a stack of Open Play nights. To open, change, message, or cancel one week of a league, find that week under Events → Open Play, not under the league itself. This explains most “where did it go?” moments.
