Scores, Ratings, and Standings

The short answer: your rating starts from the skill assessment and moves after every ranked match, based on who you played and how the match went. Scores are entered in the app right after you play. If a score is wrong, ask club staff — they can fix it, and everything recalculates.

Your rating

It runs from 1.0 to 7.0, with a tier word beside it: Beginner under 2.0, Developing to 3.0, Intermediate to 4.0, Advanced to 5.0, Elite to 6.0, and Professional above that.

Your first rating comes from the skill assessment, a short quiz about your experience. If you have never taken it you will see a prompt to. Your rating is global and per sport — it follows you between clubs, and padel, tennis and pickleball are rated separately.

Find it at Profile → Rating → My Rating. Tap that card for career stats, recent matches with the exact change from each, and pending adjustments.

How it moves

Two things decide the change: who you played and how decisive it was. Beating a stronger pair moves you more than beating a weaker one, and winning 6-1, 6-2 moves you more than 7-6, 7-6.

• New players move faster. For your first five ranked matches you are provisional and your rating moves roughly two and a half times as fast, so it finds your level quickly.

• Playing someone provisional holds part of your change back. Around 60% applies immediately; the rest settles once they finish their fifth match. That is what pending adjustments are showing you.

• Ties do not move ratings. A tied match counts in the standings but leaves everyone's rating alone.

• Casual formats count less. Bracket and round-robin matches count fully; Americano and Mexicano about a third; King of the Court about a fifth.

• Your rating drifts back if you stop playing. Results are weighted by recency, and after six months away an inactivity adjustment starts, capped at 1.5 points.

You may see a badge reading “Provisional — X/10 ranked matches”. The real number is five, not ten — the badge text is wrong and we are fixing it.

Entering a score

After an open play night or league match, open the event, go to Matches, tap your match, then Enter Score. You get steppers for each set, with Add Set for a third, and it shows the winner as you go. Then Submit Score.

For open play and league nights that is final immediately — standings and ratings update on the spot, with no opponent confirmation. Tournament bracket matches are different and go to your opponent to accept first.

• You cannot submit a tie from the app. Submit stays greyed out until there is a winner. If your match ended level, ask staff to enter it.

• If two people score the same match at once, one of you is told it was just scored by someone else. That is fine — the first submission stood.

Standings

Open play and leagues sort by points, then matches won, then fewest losses, then game difference. Points depend on the format: in Americano and Mexicano your points are the games you won; round robin is 3 for a win, 1 for a tie; King of the Court is 1 per win.

Series work differently. Each night gives you a finishing score from 100 down to 10 based on where you placed, and your season score is the sum of your best few nights rather than all of them — so one bad night gets dropped instead of sinking you. You need a minimum number of nights to appear at all, and dimmed nights on your row are the ones being dropped.

When a score is wrong

You cannot change it yourself. Once a match is final the app will tell you so.

Ask your club. Staff and managers can re-enter any result, and when they do everything recalculates properly — standings are rebuilt and the rating change from that match is removed and recomputed for everyone involved. The fastest route is Profile → Settings → Help & Support → Report a Problem or Ask a Question, or just talk to the front desk.

About the “Dispute Score” button on tournament confirmations: it only shows a message telling you to contact the tournament director. It does not file anything or notify anyone. Talk to your club directly.

One caveat: after a correction your career win/loss totals can end up off by one. Your rating and the standings are correct; the lifetime counters are approximate.
