Running Your Atlanta Cup Event

Atlanta Cup Series Saturdays are two-hour Mexicano open plays: 16 players, four courts, 20-minute rounds, a new partner every round. Players sign up solo and pay in the app before they arrive. With a full field, everyone plays every round — no one sits out.

Your job comes down to two things: scores get entered, and rotations start on time. The app does the rest — pairings, courts, countdown timer, notifications, scoring, and the citywide leaderboard. It’s easy enough that our coach in Charleston plays in the event while running it.

One app, two views

You and your players use the same Clubhouse app. Sign in with your club owner account and you get the club view — the tab bar reads Analytics · Schedule · Staff · Events · Settings.

Seeing Home · Play · Learn · Compete · Profile? That’s a player account — it can’t run the event. Log out and use the club account.

Before the start time

Find your Saturday under Events → Open Play (not under Leagues). Then, at the desk:

• Walk-ups — Players tab → Add Player. Search their account, or use New Guest. Fee: Owed (collect at the desk) or Comp.

• No-shows — remove them with the red ✕.

Do this before the scheduled start. The event starts itself on time with whoever is on the roster — an unremoved no-show gets drawn into Round 1 and leaves a court short.

Full event? The waitlist runs itself: free to join, automatic offers when a spot opens, 30 minutes to pay.

Run the rounds

Start

Tap Start Event — or let it auto-start at the scheduled time. Round 1 is random. Every player gets a notification with their court, partner, and opponents, and the full round board is on your Matches tab and in every player’s app.

Score

Everyone scores the same way: tap the matchup. Players score their own match with the up/down counter and tap Submit Final. You or a coach can tap any matchup from the club account and do the same. Every game won is a point; ties are fine. One scorekeeper per court keeps it clean.

Advance

The 20-minute countdown is in the header — tap the clock for a full-screen version to prop up courtside. The timer doesn’t end the round; you do. Once every match is scored, tap Next Round. New pairings, new courts, new notifications.

• A match is stuck? Enter its current score, or Skip Round — completed scores are kept.

• Flying through rounds? Past the scheduled count the button becomes Add Round.

• Late arrival? Add Player works mid-event — they join the next round.

• Someone leaves or gets hurt? Remove them — completed results stay, and the next round rebuilds around the remaining players.

Finish

When the window is done and the last scores are in, tap Complete Event. The Standings tab shows the final table and a top-three podium — announce it, snap a photo. Results flow to the Atlanta Cup leaderboard automatically.

Completing finalizes the standings and can’t be undone — scores in first, then Complete. (Forgot? No harm; complete it when you notice.)

How Mexicano pairs players

After each round the app re-ranks everyone by points and groups them in fours down the standings: #1 partners #4 against #2 and #3, then #5+#8 vs #6+#7, and so on. Matches stay level, teams stay balanced, and by round three everyone has floated to their court. If a short field ever forces rests, the app rotates them evenly.

How the night scores the Atlanta Cup

• Each night ranks players on match wins and losses, game score breaking ties → 100 points for 1st down to 10 for last.

• Season score = each player’s best four Saturdays. It also feeds their club’s Atlanta Club Cup total.

• Top 8 per club reach the Nov 7 finale at Padel Haus. Players track it all under Compete in their app.

During play, the live standings and pairings run on total games won — that’s the Pts column players watch on the night. The Cup leaderboard then scores the night on wins and losses.

Quick answers

• “Do I need a partner?” No — solo signup, new partner every round.

• “What court am I on?” Check your phone — every round sends court, partner, and opponents.

• Wrong score submitted? Tap the matchup from the club account and correct it. Players can’t edit after submitting.

• “I can’t make next week — do I lose my money?” Withdraw in the app before the event starts (event → Registered → Withdraw); the app states exactly what happens to the fee. Don’t promise cash refunds at the desk.

• Removing someone who paid? Removal doesn’t auto-refund — send refund questions to Clubhouse.

• Rain or emergency? Don’t cancel a series event yourself — contact Clubhouse; we handle rescheduling, refunds, and player messaging.

• “Am I good enough?” Beginner through high intermediate — and the format self-sorts courts by level within a couple of rounds.
